12th FAIL is a story about a young farmer who uses his grandmother’s life savings to pursue a career as a police officer.

A 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film directed, produced and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, it’s based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an officer of the law despite failing his exams 12 times!

The film stars Vikrant Massey as Sharma, alongside Medha Shankr, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar and Priyanshu Chatterjee.

A massive motivation movie for students and future generations that emphasises that life can be reinstated multiple times and each time one can bounce back stronger.

The plot is presented in a down-to-earth way, which will make you cry, laugh out loud and enjoy every minute of the two and half hours of this movie.

It’s primarily about there’s no mountain high enough to hinder us from achieving success. It teaches us, even if you happen to be a nomad in the Gobi Desert, that we can still have a winning chance to be at the top of the stairs of success. A lesson on how to be steadfast and optimistic.

Vikrant’s role portraying the student, embeds it with full of life. His emotions, innocence, anger and happiness create much empathy along the tough journey to the summit.

Medha Shankar provides strong support for Vikrant in creating  pure love, chemistry and just being there for one another when the going gets tough.

Climax is not once or twice but rather multiple times in this clap-worthy movie.Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a master story teller, blending the dialogue with sensibility and delicacy. There’s no denying 12th Fail is one movie with the most captivating and mind-provoking stories ever made.
