KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27: No efforts have been spared and the search will continue for Vijayaletchumi, 48, who fell into a sinkhole that appeared in Jalan Masjid India last Friday, Aug 23, said Communications Minister and Member of Parliament for Pantai, Fahmi Fadzil today.

As the search and rescue mission entered the 5th Day, the minister commended the dedication and efforts taken by all parties from the fire and rescue department to the police force, sewerage company and works department to locate the victim, who is believed to have been swept off in the sewerage pipe .

Fahmi said the search will go on and that the search teams have been complete in undertaking their tasks starting from the site of the sinkhole to the connected manholes in the city to the end point at the Pantai sewerage plant.

There has been no lead so far, but this is the end point of all sewer pipes’ materials coming from the city and they do not go beyond here, he said.

Meanwhile, the husband and son of Vijayaletchumi, a tourist from India, is being cared for by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) as they await in desperation for any development in the search for her.
