PETALING JAYA, Nov 8: DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang has given 48 hours to PAS leader Abdul Hadi Awang 48 hours to substantiate or retract his allegations that DAP and Kit Siang were anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, communist and had been spreading Islamophobia.
If there is no retraction, Kit Siang said he will consider suing Hadi for defamation.
“The Siti Mastura fiasco has given a new perspective to the wild and preposterous allegations of the PAS President Hadi Awang that DAP and I were anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, communist and spreading Islamophobia. How can other leaders of a political party be different from its president who can
make wild and preposterous allegations without an iota of evidence?” Kit Siang said in a statement today.
On Tuesday, Kepala Batas Member of Parliament Siti Mastura Mohamad was also asked to explain several claims she had made during a speech in an event organised by PAS in Kemaman recently.
She had alleged that several DAP leaders were related to each other and also to the late communist leader Chin Peng and the late Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
