NEW YORK, Dec 8: The United Nations General Assembly has adopted five resolutions in favour of the Palestinian cause, reflecting global solidarity and support for various aspects of the ongoing Palestinian struggle.
The first resolution was related to addressing assistance to Palestinian refugees, while the second resolution focused on the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The third resolution, it added, concerned the properties of Palestinian refugees and the revenues derived from them and the fourth resolution was on addressing Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem and the occupied Syrian Golan.
The fifth resolution meanwhile, related to the activities of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories.
Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, expressed appreciation for the increased support and growing international solidarity, particularly regarding the issue of Palestinian refugees, WAFA reported.
