PUTRAJAYA, July 1 – The number of COVID-19 infections were up again at 6,988 new cases reported today by the Health Ministry. This raised the total number of cases in the country to 758,967.
A total of 84 deaths were reported, raising the number of fatalities from the virus to 5,254. A total of 5,580 people have also recovered, increasing the number of recoveries to 688,260.
Meanwhile the number of COVID-19 patients were at a high of 917 with 445 of them on assisted breathing.
Five of the new cases were also imported.
Selangor continued to see the highest number of cases with 2,885, which increased the number of cases in the state to 251,636.
Minister of Health Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba meanwhile in his Twitter page said that a total of 8,083,685 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered as of June 30.
From this, 5,774,667 people have received their first boost while another 2,309,018 people have taken both their doses.
