Search for sinkhole victim Vijayaletchumi will continue including a flush out operation

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25: The search will continue for the victim of a sinkhole that suddenly appeared in Jalan Masjid in the city here on Friday morning, bringing down a tourist Vijayaletchumi, 48, from India.

In a press conference following the third day of search for the victim, Kuala Lumpur Mayor, Maimunah Mohd Sharif, said all efforts will be taken to search for the victim, including working with other agencies apart from the City Hall and Fire and Rescue Department.

A flush out operation will be carried out apart from search at the endpoint in Pantai Dalam treatment plant to search for the victim, she said.

The family of Vijayaletchumi meanwhile are being assisted with accommodation and other necessity as well as counselling during the period, she said.
