Batang Kali Landslide: Day 2 Of Search For The Missing

BATANG KALI, Dec 17 – The second day of search and rescue mission continued at the landslide site of Batang Kali-Genting Highland road today for 12 more people who have not been accounted for since the landslide early Friday morning.

The National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) in a Twitter message had called on all personnel undertaking the SAR mission to remain safe throughout the operation.

As of Friday, 21 people have died in the landslide tragedy which piled up landmass, mud and trees on a camping site owned by Father’s Organic Farm, leaving close to 100 people trapped in various parts of the camping ground, including their respective camps as well as outside their camps.

Another 61 people were rescued during the SAR operations. The injured have been sent to hospitals nearby including the Sungai Buloh hospital.
