KUALA LUMPUR, June 27: Avanade, a global Microsoft solutions provider, has introduced ‘Avanade Green IT Enabler’ to help businesses reduce their IT infrastructure’s carbon footprint.
The new tool will confront the pressing carbon challenge, with data centres contributing more to global emissions than the aviation industry, the company said in a statement today.
Furthermore, software is predicted to account for 14 per cent of the world’s carbon footprint by 2040.
Based on research, 65 per cent of companies are targeting resource reduction in their cloud and device usage and the new service will aid businesses to optimise resources and lower electricity needs.
“By aligning sustainability ambitions with organisational goals, we unlock greater business value and operational efficiencies,” said Avanade global advisory and sustainability executive sponsor Jillian Moore.
The solution includes a carbon accounting feature to track sustainability progress and integrates with IT systems to identify and correct carbon-inefficient processes. It aims for resource efficiency and reduced emissions, thus working towards a greener future.
Avanade Southeast Asia managing director Bhavya Kapoor described the tool as a transformative opportunity for organisations striving or sustainability, providing a robust foundation for future initiatives.
