KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10: DAP Secretary General Anthony Loke Siew Fook today condemned an attack on Beruas Member of Parliament Dato’ Ngeh Koo Ham’s house with a molotov cocktail.

The attack is said to have resulted in a fire that destroyed one of the MP’s cars.

The fire department had brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to the house, Anthony Loke said, adding that he received the news early this morning.

He said DAP strongly protested the aggression that has threatened the safety of Ngeh and his family, saying that violence in whatever form cannot be accepted in countering any issues or differences there may have been.

“A police report has been lodged and we are confident the police will take swift action to investigate and arrest the perpetrator of the crime,” he said, adding that he represented the entire DAP leadership in expressing their sympathy and solidarity with Ngeh and his family.

He also urged the Home Ministry and the police force to take a serious view of the incident and ensure that the safety and security of the people is always ensured.
