ELMU signs MoU and MoA, strengthens law enforcement education

BANDAR ENSTEK, NILAI, Oct 8 — Enforcement, Leadership and Management University (ELMU) signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and one Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with two universities, an industry association and a training program provider to strengthen law enforcement education in the country.

ELMU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Kassim Noor Mohamed said collaboration through the MoU with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Forensic Science Society of Malaysia (FSSM) as well as MoA with RAMS EduTech Sdn. Bhd. will elevate and support the country’s efforts in empowering law enforcement education, leadership, management, forensics and research.

“Among the objectives of the MoU with USIM is to strengthen academic collaboration in terms of Research capabilities, Leadership programs and also to design Short Term Professional Courses. The MoU with UKM is to foster the exchange of academic ideas in the field of Education and Research.

“For FSSM, we want to explore how to innovate studies and applications in the field of forensic science and also strengthen the relationship between forensic experts in the  community. ELMU also signed an MoA with RAMS EduTech to strengthen the study and learning of law enforcement via online platforms,” he said at the MoU and MoA signing ceremony at ELMU’s campus here on Monday.

Kassim said through the collaboration, platforms and facilities in the field of study and research in those fields can also be innovated and strengthened in terms of knowledge and the effectiveness of the existing platforms.

“I believe that the synergy with all parties will provide the necessary support for the purpose of empowering the level of knowledge and skills not only to USIM, UKM, FSSM and ELMU, but also to other parties that will benefit from this cooperation,” he added.

At the event, Dr. Kassim signed the MoU on behalf of ELMU while USIM was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, UKM was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics, Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Abdul Gafar, and FSSM by its President, Dato’ Dr. Yew Chong Hooi.

Representing RAMS EduTech at the MoA signing was its Group Chief Operating Officer, Brian Liew Yu Hoe.
