NEW DELHI, Dec 4: Prem Rawat, world renowned educator and author, has set another new Guinness World Record for having the largest attendance at a single lecture at a single venue, with a total of 375,603 people attending the lecture in the city of Gaya in Bihar, India recently.

Rawat, who also carries the title of Global Peace Ambassador, presented a lesson on ‘Understanding Value of Life – Know Thyself’; to the record audience at the mega world’s largest classroom set up by Raj Vidya Kender near Annapurna Rice Mill in the village of Aura of Bodhgaya.

He spoke for over an hour helping the attendees reflect on various points of the core subject of ‘Knowing Self’.

The lecture was attended by dignitaries, intellectuals, media and students, and individuals from all walks of life who started arriving at the venue at the dawn of November 26.

Prem’s record was acknowledged on stage by Guinness World Records’ adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar and Pravin Patel. Guinness World Records team registered this as the record for “the largest attendance at a single lecture.”

During his lecture he highlighted, ‘the importance of knowing yourself in the world we live in today’.

“What matters in your life is you. You are the most important thing in your life. It is not important what is happening outside but what is happening inside of you. For that you need to know yourself.”

He further said, “ignorance creates confusion, whereas knowledge creates a sense of contentment and satisfaction. Another major objective behind understanding the self is that in life we have control only over ourselves and that self only determines our joy and peace. Hence, knowing self puts us in the driver’s seat in this life.”
