HR Ministry Says It Did Not Endorse Any New Foreign Employees Intake, Management System

KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 – The Human Resources Ministry said that it has not endorsed a new Foreign Employee Recruitment and Human Resources Management System (SPDRM) and neither has it discussed such a scheme with any party.

The ministry said this in a statement today, responding to a news report on Saturday, April 8, that the SPDRM was fully backed by the ministry.

In the news report, the SPDRM was also said to be capable of tackling the issue of human trafficking and speeding up the entry of foreign workers to the country, and that it also met the conditions for taking in foreign workers including from the source countries.

This is a false statement, the ministry said.

The ministry also hoped that its clarification will erase any confusion that has arisen among employers or industries, especially among the diplomatic representatives of the source countries.
