JOHOR BAHRU, April 5: The Iskandar Puteri Smart Indoor Vertical Farm project here is looking at producing 306,000 kg of premium vegetables, including lettuce and mustard greens, within a year.
Starting off in June this year, the RM38 million pilot project is a strategic collaboration between FarmByte and a Singaporean company, said Johor Agriculture, Agro-Based Industry and Rural Committee chairman Datuk Zahari Sarip.
Covering 50,000 sq ft, the project is aimed at strengthening food security in Johor and creating job opportunities in line with the aspirations of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
