KULAI, June 29 – Member of Parliament for Kulai, Teo Nie Ching recently brought some cheer to the 250 children studying at the Ladang Kelan Tamil school here.
In a WhatsApp message here Monday, Surendran Balaraman of Malaysia Velan Padai (MVP), a non-governmental group representing Indian youth clubs from eight states in the country, said the 65-inch television sets were presented to the school on Sunday by Teo who had responded to appeals to help improve the school’s facilities.
An earlier report by Weekly Echo this year highlighted the difficulties faced by the students of the school due to its undeveloped access road.
Established in 1946, the school is located in a small area but it enjoys a good reputation among the people due not only to the academic achievements of its students but also the co-curricular activities, Surendran said.
He said appeal has been also made to the state government to help improve the access road to the school.
