Missing info in declassified LCS report linked to a meeting in Najib’s office

More than 10 pages in the declassified Ambrin report on LCS had information that were obscured.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 – More than 10 pages that had missing or obscured information from the declassified Ambrin report of the Special Investigation Committee on Public Governance, Procurement and Finance on the LCS (JKUSTUPKK) headed by then auditor-general Ambrin Buang, referred to a meeting on the LCS (Littoral Combatant Ship) project in former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s office on 9th October 2007.

This was when Najib was the Defence Minister, said Member of Parliament for Iskandar Puteri, Lim Kit Siang in a statement today.

This is proof that the LCS project started in the time when Najib was the Defence Minister a second time from 2000 – 2008 but so far, he has not admitted that the LCS project was started during his time as Defence Minister.

Kit Siang urged Najib to be more forthcoming on his role in the RM9 billion LCS scandal.

“Who is the biggest “shark” in the RM9 billion littoral combatant ships (LCS) scandal – Najib Razak who was Prime Minister and Finance  Minister from April 2009 to May 2018, Zahid Hamidi who was Defence Minister from April 2009 to May 2013, Hishammuddin Hussein who was Defence Minister from May 2013 to May 2018, or Mohamad Sabu, Defence Minister from May 2018 to February 2020?

“I had asked Najib whether he was prepared to take an oath that he had nothing to do with the RM9 billion LCS scandal, but there was no response from him.”

Kit Siang said that although in jail now, Najib could still provide answers to questions related to the LCS scandal.

“His being in jail did not prevent his daughter, Nooryana Najwa, from reading Najib’s special message at the UMNO meeting last Saturday.”

Similarly, Najib could answer questions being raised on the RM9 billion LCS scandal, he added.
