SINGAPORE, Sept 21: The final practice for the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix was suspended for several minutes on Saturday because of a monitor lizard crawling onto the street circuit, reported German news agency (dpa).
Drivers sat laughing in their cars back in the garage as stewards dealt with the jaywalking reptile.
The Singapore session restarted after the delay. Qualifying for Sunday’s race takes place later on Saturday.
Title challenger Lando Norris, battling to topple world champion and standings leader Max Verstappen, was fastest in second practice on Friday, after Charles Leclerc had topped the first session.
