SHAH ALAM, June 27 – The Selangor state government has declared an additional holiday on Friday, June 29 besides the public holiday on Thursday, June 28 for the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
In a statement issued here today, the Selangor State Secretariat Office said the additional holiday was meant only for all civil staff under the Selangor state administration and authorities, in line with the Malaysia Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369).
Hoever, this public holiday declaration does not cover statutory bodies, subsidiary companies of the state government or the private sector, and it would be up to the discretion of the employers in these respective areas to declare a holiday under the Employment Act 1955 (Act 265), the statement issued by Selangor State Secretary Dato’ Haji Haris Kasim said.
