On 6th of May, I went for my AstraZeneca vaccination at Universiti Malaya. I arrived at 12.15 pm and left 45 minutes later! The entire experience was unexpectedly smooth and swift.
That much thoughtful planning has been invested in this vaccination process is evident from the point of entering the grounds of Universiti Malaya – the signages to the facility were clear and strategically placed, and the RELA volunteers were friendly and welcoming.
Within the facility, resources were not spared – stations are systematically allocated to handle each phase of the process, each station with its own designated area and served by sets of ushers who were all courteous and helpful and attentive to make sure everyone was comfortable. Doctors were on hand to assess heath conditions and to explain side effects of the vaccination.
The jab was administered almost painlessly, and I was then asked to wait for 15 minutes in the observation area in case there was immediate adverse reaction to the vaccination. After a few more steps, I received my e-cert on the app!
I came away feeling very grateful for this free public health service and also feeling very touched by the level of professional service extended to everyone. Every interaction was done with personal attention and all touch points were methodically tracked digitally through the MySejahtera app.
Thank you AstraZeneca Vaccination teams and Ministry of Health for your attitude of service. During this challenging and confusing times, this uplifting experience certainly helps to restore calm to those fortunate ones to receive this vaccination.
