US Coast Guard Confirms Finding Debris of Titan, Five On Board Presumed Dead – New York Times

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 – The US Coast Guard has confirmed finding five major pieces of debris from the missing Titan submersible in the North Atlantic, and the five crew on board could have been killed from a catastrophic implosion, the New York Times reported.

The search for Titan began when it went missing on Sunday with five people aboard.

The crew were presumed dead on Thursday, after an international search found debris from the vessel near the wreckage of the Titanic, the NYT said, citing a US Coast Guard official saying that the debris was “consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel.”
